FTIR Spectroscopy for Chemical Structure Analysis
At Wuhan Textile University, I received laboratory training in FTIR spectroscopy for chemical structure analysis of functional and conductive materials. My training covered sample preparation, ATR/sample placement, background scanning, instrument operation, spectrum collection, and data export. I used FTIR to examine characteristic absorption bands and assess functional groups and bonding features in electrospun nanofibers, pyrolysed carbon-based materials, and hydrothermally synthesized composites. This experience helped me relate material processing, such as functionalization, carbonization, and composite formation, to chemical changes relevant to energy harvesting and energy storage research.
Optical Characterization of Functional Materials by UV–Vis Spectroscopy
At Wuhan Textile University, I developed practical experience in using UV–Vis spectroscopy to evaluate the optical behavior of functional materials. This work included preparing clear solutions or stable dispersions, choosing a suitable wavelength range, handling cuvettes, recording absorption spectra, and exporting data for further analysis. I used the technique to observe light absorption features and compare spectral changes in materials prepared through electrospinning, pyrolysis, and hydrothermal synthesis. This training strengthened my ability to use optical data as supporting evidence for material formation, dispersion behavior, and structure-related changes in energy harvesting and energy storage research.
Student Supervision Experience
In addition to my projects and publications, I have had the rewarding experience of supervising 13 students across six groups over the last six semesters in the Department of Textile Engineering at Daffodil International University, from 2022 to 2025. This role allowed me to mentor students through various academic and research challenges, guiding them to achieve their project objectives and develop their technical and analytical skills. My supervisory experience has not only enhanced my own understanding but also contributed to fostering the next generation of engineers and researchers in textile engineering.
